Godavari is a  green cotton & jute basket .

The fibers are extracted through a process called retting, where jute stems are bundled and immersed in slow-running water. This is followed by stripping, where the non-fibrous matter is removed, leaving the fibers for hand braiding by skilled women artisans from India.

The textile is the product of expert handweaving, a demanding process that requires perfect rhythm and coordination. Despite stiff competition from power looms, this traditional craft has remained true to its roots and supports over 4.4 million weaving families.
